Make it three wins in a row for the LaGrange Academy boys basketball team. The Warriors beat Westside 58-49 in a back-and-forth game that was played in front of a packed gymnasium for alumni night.

Both offenses struggled to get anything going in the first quarter as the Warriors trailed 10-8 after the opening eight minutes. The offenses sparked to life in the second quarter and Westside was able to take a 27-24 lead into the break.

With the LaGrange Academy sports hall of fame inauguration at halftime, there was an extended break that lasted 25 minutes instead of the usual 10. This gave the Warriors some time to regroup.

Unfortunately, the Warriors could not cut into the lead and subsequently trailed 38-34 heading to the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was all LaGrange Academy. The Warriors outscored Westside 23-11 as the packed gymnasium cheered every fourth-quarter bucket like their lives depended on it.

Alex Jarvholm completely took over in the fourth. The junior forward scored 10 of his game-high 25 points in the final frame and came through with a clutch play every time he was called upon to do so on Friday night. It has been a big week for Jarvholm, who scored a season-high 40 points on Tuesday against Lafayette Christian.

Kayde Bradfield, who finished with a strong 17 points, fouled out in the fourth after helping spark the rally. A frustrated Bradfield had to go to the bench with over four minutes left in the game, but some of his teammates picked up the slack to help close the game.

Freshman Grayson Salter did not score a single point in the first three quarters, but nailed a 3-pointer and an important free throw in the fourth.

LaGrange Academy has completely turned its season around. After winning the opening game of the season, the Warriors then proceeded to drop three straight games. Now, the Warriors are back at .500 (4-4) after winning three games in a row, all in the span of four days.

Lagrange Academy will look to get a winning record back for the first time since early November when the Warriors travel to take on Eastwood Christian next Thursday for the final game before Christmas break.
