Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on Hogansville Road near W. Hopson Road on Sunday.
Georgia State Troopers say a Ford F-150 was traveling west on Hogansville Road and a Honda Accord and a Hyundai Veracruz were traveling in the opposite direction. The truck crossed into the oncoming lane and struck the Honda head-on. The Honda rolled backwards striking the Hyundai.
The Ford F-150 then careened off the south side of the roadway, ejecting the passenger and striking a tree causing the truck to burst into flames.
The driver and passenger of the truck were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and the passenger of the Honda suffered serious injuries. The occupants of the Hyundai were uninjured.
Troopers say the collision caused Hogansville Road to be blocked for about three hours.
The accident is still under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
