The LaGrange Academy boys basketball team made it nine wins in a row on Saturday, topping Eastwood Christian 54-48.
It looked like it might be all Warriors early as they took a 14-8 lead after the opening quarter. Eastwood would rally in the second and take a 26-24 lead into halftime.
The third quarter would prove decisive with the Warriors edging out Eastwood 16-7 to take a 7-point lead to the fourth quarter.
LaGrange Academy would not give an inch and there was no way back for Eastwood in the final quarter.
The game belonged to Alex Jarvholm, who led the Warriors with 31 points. The junior set the tone early with 13 of his points in the first quarter.
Jarvholm’s running mate, Kayde Bradfield, also excelled on Saturday. He finished with 22 points and went 7 for 8 on free throws in the fourth quarter to ice the game.
The rest of the Warriors would combine for just one point with Andrew Knight hitting a free throw in the fourth quarter.
LaGrange Academy improved to 10-4 on the season. The Warriors will return to the court on the road to Flint River on Tuesday.
