George William (Billy) McGill, Jr. 73, of Wadley, AL passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Wellstar West Georgia Health.

 

Mr. McGill was born January 18, 1943 to the late George William McGill, Sr. and Ethel Ophelia Storey McGill. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. Mr. McGill was retired from the Troup County School System as a Bus Driver and Shop Maintenance Mechanic. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Community Church in Wadley, AL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy McGill and a sister, Ophelia Stephens.

 

Survivors include his wife, Sara Jane McGill; children, Kim (Zack) Phillips, Chris (Marianne) McGill, Candy (Cory) Noles; grandchildren, Brandon McGill, Devin Clifton, Tyler (Ashley) Clifton, Kayleigh Phillips, Brett Starling, Levi (Katlyn) Noles; great grandchildren, Colt Starling, Rileigh Clifton, Saylor Noles and Dayton Noles; sister, Linda McGill; other relatives and friends.

 

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm EST at the funeral home. The Funeral will be 11:00 am CST Monday, December 19, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Community Church in Wadley, AL with Rev. Joseph Halsey, Rev. Zenus Windsor and Rev. Wayne Hester officiating.
