HOGANSVILLE – While spring break is in session for public school students this week in Troup County, you will find the youth from the Boys & Girls Club in Hogansville are taking full advantage of their time off.
“Today has just been a regular day for us with our activities, but the kids seem to be enjoying themselves so far this week,” said Debbie Dollar, program manager of Hogansville Boys & Girls Club.
Members of the Boys & Girls Club were playing everything from cornhole to chess to foosball to building blocks to enjoying Nintendo Wii, playing the popular Michael Jackson: The Experience musical video game.
Arts and crafts, Triple Play (sports) and the gameroom are three of the main programs the club focuses on with the youth and members were highly involved in a mixture of all three activities and more.
Not all the fun took place inside.
Outside on the playground and basketball court, another group of youth were immersed in drawing on the sidewalk with chalk, blowing bubbles and getting their dance moves on to songs like Bruno Mars mega-hit “24K Magic” as Coach Khary Paige led the way.
“Usually in the week myself, Ms. Candis and Ms. Pam are at certain areas or stations with the kids,” said Dollar. “But for this week during spring break, were all pitching in and doing a little bit of everything.”
