Joyce C. Johnson, 70, of LaGrange, GA passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.

Ms. Johnson was born November 14, 1946 in Alexander City, AL to the late Marvin Eugene “Scoopy” Chappell and Para Lee Nix Chappell. She was a retired LPN and was recently employed with Poplar Creek as a Home Care Nurse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Duffie.

Survivors include her son, Allen (Samantha) Johnson; grandchildren, Emilee and Lyndsee Kate Johnson; sisters, Nancy (Jesse) Irvin and Amelia Shelhorse; brothers, Donald (Suzanne) Newberry and Gene (Lorraine) Chappell; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, April 21, 2017 at Baptist Tabernacle with Reverend Jimmy McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens.
