Alyssa Hope Shirey, age 13, of LaGrange, passed away on April 18, 2017 at Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, Scottish Rite.  Alyssa was born on April 9, 2004 in LaGrange to Charles Hayward Shirey and Melissa Ann Humphreys Shirey.  She was a seventh grader at Callaway Middle School and a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church where she brought joy to the lives of all those around her.  The community has given an outpouring of love to Alyssa and her family as they have faced this long battle with courage and faith.  She will be greatly missed.  Survivors include her parents, Charlie and Melissa Shirey; brothers, Charles Kane Shirey and Sean Luke Shirey; grandparents, Samuel Humphreys, Walter Shirey (Judy) and Beatrice Shirey; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; extended family and many friends.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Franklin Road Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Buchanan and Rev.
