Back to school fair to help families

There’s a lot to worry about as the school year gets ready to begin.
The hardest — and most expensive part — is trying to purchase all the school supplies, while also staying within budget. Unfortunately, we don’t get a break on our bills just because it’s August and the kids are heading back to class.
We’ve written about so many different organizations that are helping families get ready for the new school year this summer. The list is so long now that we’d never be able to list them all.
On Saturday, there’s another chance for families to stock up on supplies and clothes before school gets underway.
Anointed by Faith Ministries will hold its event from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. Saturday at 129 Sunset Street in LaGrange.
Outside of school supplies, there will be free haircuts and braiding by professional stylists.
The sheriff’s office and police and fire department will also be there.
This is another event meant to benefit people in the community, showing that the people of LaGrange truly care for their neighbors.
These events show that no matter what someone’s financial situations is, there are many here in LaGrange that want to help out. This care for the community is what makes LaGrange a one of a kind town; whether it is a church or an airplane company giving backpacks to kids, or fundraising events held to benefit local foster homes and services.
This city again is showing how willing it is to give back. Saturday’s event is just another example of that.
