The City of LaGrange announced Thursday that the roundabout connecting Country Club Road and Broad Street will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The intersection will be closed so that the final layer of asphalt can be poured and the lines can be painted onto the road. Public Services Director David Brown recommended that traffic traveling to and from LaGrange through the south side of town drive down Vernon Road instead of Broad Street on that day. Residents who live on Country Club Road will need to enter and exit the road through neighborhoods during the construction. Detours will likely be marked.

The entire project should be completed by the end of the month though some landscaping work will still need to be done once the weather gets cooler. However, that landscaping should not impact traffic.

“It will be pretty much done on the 26th if the weather cooperates, and we can get that top layer poured and the striping done,” Brown said.
