Troup eases to road win

COLUMBUS – Maddie Weathers had a monster day at the plate to help Troup beat Brookstone 17-6 on Wednesday in a non-region game.
Weathers, Troup’s senior catcher, had five hits with a double, and she had two RBIs with two runs scored.
Skye Loftin had four hits with an RBI, and Abby Taylor, Madison McCartney and Hadleigh Livingston each had three hits.
Livingston had three RBIs, Taylor had two RBIs, and McCartney drove in one run.
Kayla Lane had two hits and two RBIs, and Makenzie Miller and Maddie Livingston each had one RBI.
Troup finished with 20 hits.
Taylor was the starting and winning pitcher.
Troup will be at home today against Region 5-AAAA foe Sandy Creek, with first pitch set for 5:30 p.m.
Before the game, the team’s seniors will be recognized.
