One driver was not happy about her arrest for a suspected DUI and made it very clear when she allegedly became violent inside a holding cell at Troup County Jail.

A LaGrange police officer said he spotted the woman driving a white Cadillac erratically Wednesday evening around 6:15 near the intersection of Greenville and Hill streets. The officer said she was also traveling 59 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone.

According to the report, when the officer pulled the driver over, he said her speech was slurred and he could smell alcohol on her breath. He stated he tried to give the woman a Breathalyzer test to read her blood alcohol content level, but she could not give a proper sample.

The officer arrested her and took her to jail, but the report states when she entered the holding cell for another Breathalyzer test, she made it clear to officers and deputies she would not submit to one.

The woman started kicking, swinging, screaming, stripped nude and claimed various items in the room were out to get her, the officer wrote in his report.

EMS was called out to render aid to the woman.

She was still cited with DUI, speeding and failure to maintain lane.

Burglary

A local business owner told police someone took a Simpson brand 3100 PSI pressure washer from his shop and walked out the back door.

The owner of Foster’s Auto Sales on Hamilton Road told police Wednesday evening he noticed a locked gate on his property was left open and some vehicles along that path had red scuff marks on them, the same color as the pressure washer.

Police are investigating.

Theft

A woman reported someone stole two push mowers from her home in the 100 block of North Lewis Street between Aug. 26 and Wednesday.

She told LaGrange officers the mowers were under her home and not secured.

The estimated value of both pieces of equipment was $150.
