Billie Lorraine Harmon McIver, 97, died Monday Jan. 29, 2018, at West Georgia Hospice.
Billie was born in Orange County Indiana. She was the oldest of three children born to Stella Ferguson Harmon and Robert Bruce Harmon and had two brothers, Dr. James Harmon and Robert Harmon, all of whom preceded her in death. Billie married Osa McIver in 1939. They were married 67 years. She is survived by three children: Naomi (Sam)Wreyford, Sally McIver and Roger (Barbara) McIver. There are six grandchildren: Douglas (Miranda) Wreyford, Jeffery (Lynn) Wreyford, Michael (Christy) Wreyford, Sheri (Robert) Richards, Russell (Patty) McIver and Kenneth McIver. She was blessed with 12 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Billie was a member of Woodstock Christian Church, Woodstock, Georgia. She happily attended Rosemont Baptist Church in LaGrange. She was a Master Gardener with two “green thumbs”, a Girl Scout leader, a nanny and a daycare provider. She was a positive influence on the lives of many children and her family members. She will be greatly missed by all. Memorial service will be on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Rosemont Baptist Church in LaGrange with visitation at noon and the memorial service at 1 p.m.
