Men arrested for alleged cocaine possession

Two men were arrested for alleged cocaine possession in two separate incidents Saturday.
David Lee Brown, 59, was arrested for cocaine possession and possession of a drug related object at the parking lot of the Daniel Street Food Mart around 8:40 p.m.
According to the police report, an officer noticed Brown trying to obtain an unknown item from the inside of a baseball hat. As the officer shined a flashlight in his direction, he immediately threw the hat on the ground then moved away from it.
After making contact with Brown, officers found a glass smoking device by where Brown was sitting and suspected burnt cocaine residue in it.
Brown was then arrested.
According to the police report, while searching Brown, officers found another smoking device which contained suspected cocaine residue. They found suspected cocaine near where Brown had been sitting and in the hat.
In a separate incident, Christopher Devier Jennings, 44, was arrested for alleged cocaine possession and possession of a drug related object at the 100 block of Carver Street between Saturday around 8:35 p.m.
According to the police report, an officer knew Jennings to have an active warrant for open container, littering and obstruction. Jennings was then arrested.
While searching him, the officer found a glass smoking device with residue consistent with cocaine.
Items stolen from shed
More than $450 worth of tools were allegedly stolen from a storage building at the 500 block of Youngs Mill Road Between Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2:40 p.m.
The owner told police the items missing were his golf cart charger valued at $449 and a weed trimer of unknown value.
After searching the area, police came to a residence at the 400 block of Youngs Mill Road and asked to search the area. After searching the residence, police found the missing items in a crawl space.
Counterfeit bills discovered
Counterfeit bills were allegedly discovered in two separate incidents Friday and Saturday.
A fake $10 bill was discovered at the McDonalds on New Franklin Road Friday around 2:43 p.m.
Three fake $20 bills were discovered at the Dollar General on South Greenwood Street Saturday around 9:30 p.m.
The Dollar General manager told police a woman attempted to pay for her items with the bills. The female told the cashier she got the bills from a gas station a few minutes beforehand.
