A man was arrested for allegedly stealing a phone from a vehicle and possessing cocaine at Peters Street Wednesday after 8:15 p.m. According to the police report, officers found Deandrez Green, 18, matching the description of the suspect who entered the vehicle. While searching Green, officers found a cell phone, a knife, a screwdriver, a lighter and a metal bristle brush.

According to the police report, officers found two knives, a box cutter, a screwdriver, a battery, a sealed gas tank, numerous screwdriver bolts and two .32 caliber bullets in his backpack.

After being interviewed at the police station and being handcuffed, Green dropped a glass object. Officers discovered it was a glass pipe containing brillo pad which also had a residue of suspected cocaine, according to the police report.

Green is charged with theft-entering an auto, cocaine possession and burglary tools possession, according to the Troup County Jail arrest/release reports.

Wallet stolen from office

An office at LaGrange College was entered and a wallet was stolen from it Thursday around 1 p.m. A professor told police that she always locks her office before going to a class.

The professor said five minutes into her class she realized she left an item in her office and sent a student to her office to retrieve it. The student came back and told her that her office door was left open.  According to the police report, the professor went back to her office and found her purse on the floor and the wallet gone.

Vehicle stolen

A Mitsubishi Outlander Sport was allegedly stolen at the Laurel Crossing Apartments Thursday before 10:40 p.m. The vehicle owner told police that she started her vehicle to warm it up before going to work, and when she came back 10 minutes later it was gone. The owner told police she left the keys in and the doors unlocked. The owner valued the car at $27,000.

Sauce jar damages windshield

A vehicle’s front windshield was allegedly damaged with a jar of Alfredo sauce at the 1100 block of Houston Street Monday between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. The vehicle owner estimated the damage to be $200.

Vehicle, residence egged

A vehicle and a residence were egged in separate incidents between Wednesday and Thursday.

A Honda Civic was egged at Preakness Drive between Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.and Thursday at 7:30 a.m. The vehicle owner told police the damage was valued less than $500. In a separate incident, a residence was egged at the 400 block of Lexington Park Drive between Wednesday at 9:30 and Thursday at 7:30 a.m. According to the police report, profanity was written on the driver’s door of a Ford Ranger.
