The Troup Tigers played Villa Rica to a scoreless tie on Thursday in a non-region soccer game at Callaway Stadium.
The Tigers had their chances, and they had some outstanding looks at the goal in the closing moments, but they were unable to break through.
With a little more than 10 minutes remaining, Helsyn Martinez took a free kick from 30 yards out that nearly found the net.
With 10:27 to play, a Villa Rica player was given a red-card, meaning it had to play a man down for the remainder of the game.
The Tigers pushed the pace and got a handful of shots on goal, but none of them found the target.
The clock hit zero just as the rain began to fall.
The Villa Rica and Troup girls’ teams didn’t play on Thursday.
Troup was coming off a 4-1 road win over Griffin.
Sam West scored two goals in that game, and Martinez and Jacob Kimball had one goal apiece.
Troup is off until April 9 when it hosts Spencer.
