Antique car show to benefit St. Jude’s, Homeless Coalition
The Antique Automobile Club of America, Georgia/Alabama Region, will hold its 34th Annual Antique Auto Meet from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday at LaGrange Mall, 1501 Lafayette Parkway. In addition to classic cars on display, there will be door prizes plus a money tree drawing and people’s choice awards for registrants with a 50/50 raffle open to anyone. Proceeds from this year’s show will benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Troup County Homeless Coalition toward efforts to open a facility for men. Registration is $15 per car in advance; $20 the day of show. Early arrivals get free coffee and donuts. For more information, call 706-333-0668.
Junior Service League Attic Sale
Junior Service League of LaGrange hosts its annual attic sale at the old Westbrook Tire building, 308 Main St. in LaGrange, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $1 per person for admission. Entry for early admission at 8 a.m. or a preview sale 6-8 p.m. Oct. 2 are each $5. Proceeds go toward JSL outreach initiatives.
Benefit ride for Maylee
A benefit ride is set for 11 a.m. Oct. 10 at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 101 N. Davis Road in LaGrange, to raise money for the family of Maylee Highland, 3, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on Sept. 15, according to event organizers. The young girl is undergoing treatment, which will continue for six months. Registration for the event begins at 10 a.m. at the church. Cost to participate is $20 per motorcycle or vehicle and $5 per passenger. Any vehicle is welcome. There also will be a 50/50 raffle at $1 per ticket and $8 barbecue plates on sale.
