LaGrange, Starr’s Mill meet again

The LaGrange Grangers were hoping to make it two wins in two days over Starr’s Mill, but they lost l 7-5 in Saturday afternoon’s game in Fayetteville.
On Friday, LaGrange earned a dramatic 6-3 win over Starr’s Mill, with freshman Will Alford delivering a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning.
In Saturday’s game, LaGrange started quickly with three runs in the top of the first inning, and it held the lead until Starr’s Mill took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
John Morgan had an RBI single for LaGrange, and Seth Prather, Ben Farrar and Walton Lanier each had a hit.
Cole Crawford scored two runs, and Prather, Will Alford and Farrar each scored a run.
Brant Williams started for LaGrange and was solid in his four innings of work, giving up two runs on six hits.
Ben Stogner and Cole Sanders pitched the final two innings.
LaGrange has three region games this week.
Troup hosts Troup on Tuesday and visits Central-Carroll on Thursday before finishing the week with a home game against Cartersville on Friday.
LaGrange is 5-2 in region play.
