Mrs. Rebecca Idella Bryan Gray, age 87, of LaGrange passed away May 2, 2018.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gray will be conducted Friday May 4, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy King officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Friday from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral.
Mrs. Gray was born July 8, 1930, in Heard County to the late Rev. John Lovic Bryan and the late Eva Clara Heard Bryan. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
She retired from Milliken & Co., where she worked in the carpet factory. She loved her job and strove to do her very best each day.
Family was at the center of her life. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. What gave her the greatest joy was cooking a hot meal and topping it off with one her famous cakes.
One of her favorite hobbies was traveling. She loved to visit new places and meet new people. She never met a stranger, and liked to talk to anyone she met.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Gray of LaGrange; son, Howard Gray Jr. of LaGrange; daughter-in-law, Lynn Gray of Newnan; five grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sue Bryan of Greenville and Cathryn Bryan of Riverdale; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Gray, and two brothers, Wheeler Bryan and William Bryan.
