Mr. James Clay Marshall

James Clay Marshall, age 88, of Barnesville passed away, Thursday, May 10, 2018. Mr. Marshall was born in LaGrange, Georgia on Oct. 15, 1929.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Hoyt Marshall and Georgia Evelyn Murphy Marshall; son, James Steven Marshall. Mr. Marshall served in the U.S. Navy for three years and then the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was in the 34th Air Squadron and was a part of the strategic Air Command, serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller.
He is survived by his wife, Janelle Marshall; children, William Perry Marshall and wife Deborah, Janet R Gill and husband Jody; grandchildren, Melanie Vaughn and husband Brandon, Andrew Reeves and fiancee Katy, Jody Marshall and wife April, Janelle Griffith and husband Thomas, Jamie Fitzgerald and husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Alayna, Brenna, Mattox, Gracie, Riley, Braden, Amelia, Dillon and Kayla; brother, Howard Marshall and wife Gail; two nieces and one nephew, Laura, Sharon, Lamar; other extended family and kissing cousins.
A memorial service for Mr. James Clay Marshall will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. on the Marshall farm.
