On Tuesday, Troup County voted on who will represent the citizens at the local, state and national level, and while some races saw stiff competition, some candidates ran unopposed.

Here’s a look at local races where candidates ran with no competition:

Rebecca Grubbs won the district 4 seat on the Troup County Board of Education with 1,227 votes. She will replace current board member, Ted Alford, who decided not to run for another term.

Allen Simpson will continue serve on the Troup County Board of Education in the district 1 seat. He received 429 votes.

Richard English will serve on the Troup County Board of Commissioners in the district 5 seat. He was recently honored for serving on the board of commissioners for 40 years. He received 529 votes.

Vickie Sue McWaters will serve again as the judge of magistrate court. She received 5,438 votes.

Finally, Republican Leonard Gomez and Democrat Bob Trammell will compete for state house 132 in November.  Gomez received 829 votes in Troup County. Trammell received 809 votes in Troup County.
