LPD needs help solving cases

Earlier this month, we wrote about numerous mailboxes that were damaged during a one-night stunt. Although it was unclear exactly what happened, it looked like the mailboxes were directly hit, knocking several down and putting dents in others.
In Wednesday’s paper, we wrote about seven vehicles that had their tires slashed during one night, causing significant damage, and likely ruining a lot of days in the process.
The LaGrange Police Department is still investigating both incidents, trying to determine who is responsible.
Although we’re writing about both, in no way does that mean they’re related. More than likely, they aren’t.
But that doesn’t mean they aren’t comparable. Both are senseless crimes that — at least on the surface — make no sense and have no clear motive.
They also take some of the police department’s attention away from the more significant crimes in our communities and the investigations that follow.
We hope that whoever is responsible is caught in both cases, but it’s likely going to take the community’s help.In these types of cases, it seems unlikely one person acted alone. It’s also likely that someone out there knows who is responsible.
We hope that anyone with information will come forward and help the LPD put these two cases to rest. To contact the LPD, call (706) 883-2603.
