Elaine C. Thompson of LaGrange, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at LaGrange Hospice.

 Mrs. Thompson was born Oct. 31, 1943, in Clanton, Alabama, to the late Odis and Aline Cummings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory James Mize. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Billy Joe Thompson Sr.; daughters, Debra McGuffin, Gayla Miller, Bobbie Delin (Marty) Spears; and step-son, Billy (Tiffany) Thompson; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, Georgia, with the Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. The gathering of family and friends will be held Monday from 6 p.m. to 8  p.m. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
