It was a busy weekend for the LaGrange High softball team, which split its four games in the Trojan Slam in Carrollton.

After beating Chattooga and Flowery Branch on Friday, LaGrange fell to Pierce County and Alexander on Saturday.

LaGrange (12-6) will return to Region 5-AAAA play on Thursday when it visits Troup.

In Friday’s first game, LaGrange beat Chattooga 2-1 in dramatic fashion, with Abby Vanhoose’s RBI single bringing in Katelynn Mobley with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Mobley reached on a two-out double before scoring on Vanhoose’s clutch hit.

Vanhoose finished with two hits, Malone Aldridge added an RBI hit, and Destiny Fitpatrick and Macee Stone each had a hit.

Stone got the complete-game victory, and she limited Chattooga to one run despite giving up 10 hits.

In Friday’s second game, LaGrange blew out Flowery Branch 9-1, with Camden Smith getting the five-inning complete-game win.

Smith held Flowery Branch to three hits and one run.

Smith also got it done at the plate with a solo home run, and that was part of a big offensive effort for LaGrange.

Hannah Karcher had a triple and three RBIs, and Holly Lynn had two hits and two RBIs.

Vanhoose had two hits and an RBI, Aldridge had a hit and one RBI, Madison Dennis drove in a run, and Fitzpatrick and Jacee Marable each had a hit.
