Man robbed at gunpoint on Ridley Avenue

An iPhone X was taken in an alleged armed robbery Monday night at the 400 block of Ridley Avenue, according to a LaGrange Police Department report. The victim told police that he was parked outside a residence with his friend when someone knocked on his vehicle’s window.
“The victim thought [the suspect] was someone from inside the house,” said LPD Det. Joseph Ellison.
The suspect asked the victim if he was going to the Tall Pines Apartments, and the victim said no. The man then put a gun to the victim’s head and demanded money and electronics, according to Ellison.
According to the police report, the suspect took just the phone, valued at $1,000. The victim tried to give the suspect a Walmart card, but the suspect said he only wanted cash, according to the police report.
The victim told police the suspect then pointed the gun at his friend, who was also in the car. She told him she didn’t have anything and the suspect then fled the scene, according to the police report.
The suspect was described as African American and between 5-feet and 3-inches and 5-feet and 5-inches. The suspect was described as 160 to 180 pounds and in his early 20s, according to the police report.
