TCSO investigates armed robbery at Dollar General

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery that occurred Thursday around 4:13 p.m. at the Dollar General on Greenville Road.
According to a press release from the TCSO, deputies and investigators were dispatched to the Dollar General. Investigators were told that an unknown black male wearing all black entered the location, approached the clerk and brandished a silver handgun demanding money.
After being in the store for a brief time, the suspect fled the location on foot. The sheriff’s office believes the suspect was picked up by an unknown driver in a white impala driving toward Meriwether County in Greenville Rd.
The suspect was described as approximately 5-foot-8 and had a slim build. He was wearing a partial mask during the robbery. There were no injuries in this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at (706) 883-1616 or Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
