It’s almost Thanksgiving

It’s almost Thanksgiving. What does Thanksgiving mean to you?
As I have gotten a few more gray hairs it really means more to me than ever before.
As a kid I was always blessed to be able to have dinner at the Greens, mom’s side, then off to the eat with the Johnson clan. There was always a lot of laughter and someone always had a new gun that every boy had to shoot.
I came from a family of quail hunters, so we always got to hunt the back 80 acres and boy we had fun.
Times have changed, but love of family is still number one on the list. It will only be a few days and “Turkey Day” will be here again.
As the old one in the group, I have started thinking, “What can we do to make sure the kids have a great time and so they will one day say, pop was cool.”
I know Gavin likes to drive the four-wheel club car so I will have it full of gas.
Evan and John T likes to shoot so will have plenty of ammo.
I bet Louise will have Weston and Josie a new toy to keep them busy.
I know we cannot go back in time and hug any of those uncles and aunts, but we can do our best to make the kids think their grandparents were pretty cool. I know all of mine were.
I wish each of you the best holiday season ever and good health to all.
