Four people wanted for armed robbery in Jasper, Alabama, were arrested On Interstate 85 northbound near mile marker 14 Wednesday afternoon. According to Japer Police Chief J.C. Poe Dayton Addison, 21, Mallory LaGrone, 19, Drake Hann, 18, and Ashley Mullins, 21, robbed a Qwik Sak around 7 a.m. and took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
“One went over the counter, knocked the clerk down and put a gun in her face,” Poe said.
Poe said after the armed robbery was reported, they put out a broadcast for the suspect’s vehicle.
“We had information that they might possibly head into Georgia, so we contacted the Georgia State Troopers,” Poe said. “And Sgt. Maurice Raines spotted the vehicle on I-85 and pulled the vehicle over and the four suspects were in the vehicle.”
Troup County Sherriff’s Office investigators soon arrived at the scene and helped, according to Poe. He said the vehicle was soon searched and evidence of the robbery was found there.
Poe said they are extraditing the four suspects. Poe said all four are being charged in Alabama. Addison is charged with first degree robbery, fourth degree theft of property and second degree assault. LaGrone and Hann are charged with first degree robbery and fourth degree theft of property. It is unknown what Mullins is being charged with.
Poe said he appreciated GSP and the TCSO’s involvement.
“It wouldn’t have happened without cooperation between multiple agencies in Alabama and in Georgia and we’ve very much appreciative for everyone,” Poe said.
