Former LaGrange Academy standout Lincoln Anderson picked a fine time to deliver a career-best performance.

Anderson, a sophomore on the LaGrange College basketball team, had a career-high 16 points to help his team get past Brevard 80-73 on Sunday afternoon in a USA South game.

Brevard rallied from a 12-point deficit in the second half to pull even and force overtime, but LaGrange College dominated the four-minute extra period to improve to 5-3 overall, and 2-1 in the conference.

Anderson came off the bench and had a terrific game.

Anderson, who played 34 minutes, was 8-of-10 from the field while scoring 16 points, and he also had five rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.

Jamison McCray also had 16 points for the Panthers while pulling down seven rebounds, Julian Cameorn added 11 points, and Travis Thompson scored 10 points.

Elijah Adedoyin had eight points and was 5-of-8 from the free-throw line, and Gary Bishop scored seven points.

The Panthers only had one field goal in overtime, a dunk by Anderson.

The Panthers’ other 11 points in overtime came from the free-throw line, with Bishop making seven-of-eight attempts.

“We helped them a lot in that aspect of things,” LaGrange College head coach Kendal Wallace said. “Brevard has a good basketball team and they’re going to be better down the road.”

Wallace felt it was “a good win for us at home. We had a good week of practice and I felt like we were very prepared in everything that we were going to try to do.”
