Mrs. Christine Elizabeth “Lib” Maxwell

Mrs. Christine Elizabeth “Lib” Maxwell, 89, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin.
Mrs. Maxwell was born May 5, 1929, in Atlanta, daughter of the late James Clarence Pharr and Myrtle Ethel Phillips Pharr. She had lived in Hogansville since 1946, was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta, and retired from Playtex. Mrs. Maxwell will always be remembered as a loving mother to all.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Brenda and Randy Bussey of Jonesboro, Barbara and Ed Laster of Snellville; son and daughter in-law, Jimmy and Edye Maxwell of Hogansville; brother, Hubert Franklin Pharr of Woodland, Al; grandchildren, Sandy Laster, Holli Dyer (Chris), Chad Bussey (Kheri), Matt Bussey, Zach Maxwell, and Courtney Pulley (Ryan); five great-grandchildren; and a special great niece and nephew, Bill Hammond (Jennifer) and Holly Clendenin (Robbie). She was preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Charles O. Maxwell.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
