Cedartown sweeps LaGrange

CEDARTOWN – The LaGrange Grangers had the lead through three quarters, but the home-standing Cedartown Bulldogs used a strong finish to earn a 57-52 win in a region game on Tuesday.
Cedartown outscored LaGrange 20-11 in the fourth quarter to secure the come-from-behind win.
The Grangers trailed 13-6 after the first quarter, but they rallied to take a 25-24 lead at the half, and they were ahead 41-37 heading to the final quarter when the Bulldogs rallied.
Jordan Ogletree and Jakobe Jones each scored 19 points for LaGrange.
LaGrange (11-10 overall) is 3-5 in Region 5-AAAA.
In the girls’ game, LaGrange lost a 49-45 overtime heartbreaker to Cedartown.
It was tied 41-41 at the close of regulation, and Cedartown outscored LaGrange 8-4 in the four-minute overtime period.
Zaria Russell led LaGrange with 22 points, with 18 of those points coming in the second half when she made four 3-pointers.
Chaquave’ayr Robinson added 11 points for LaGrange.
LaGrange (10-11 overall) fell to 2-6 in the region, and it is tied for fifth place with Cartersville.
LaGrange hosts Cartersville on Friday.
