The Troup County Board of Commissioners are currently preparing to host the first State of the County address in recent memory on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Gray Hill Community Center.

According to a press release from the county, the presentation will be conducted by various Troup County government officials and will address several topics and departments, including projects and highlights from the past year, as well as specific goals for 2019.

 “During my administration, this will be our first attempt to get out in front of the citizens and share with them what is going on,” Troup County Board of Commissioners Chairman Patrick Crews said. “This will be our opportunity to talk with the citizens, share what is going on. We’ve got different department heads that are going to be there, and I always like to be able to answer questions, find out what is on citizens’ minds. Input from them is always important.”

The public is invited and welcome to attend as the county reflects on a year of successful accomplishments and discusses plans for a vibrant future across Troup County.

“For a lot of us that go to the [LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce] breakfasts and other events, we hear what is going on, but for some folks who are working, sometimes it is very hard for them to come,” Crews said. “You want to be able to take it to them.”

The Gray Hill Community Center is located at 3600 Bartley Road in West Point. The State of the County address will also be broadcasted live on Troup County’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/troupcountyga.org.
