Dolly and Andy Ahrndt celebrated the opening of their new business, Supper at Home Y’all, on Wednesday surrounded by friends and LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce members. The business will specialize in serving casseroles and three-layer cakes, as well as chicken salad and pimento cheese.
“We do cakes and casseroles to go,” Donna Ahrndt said. “You can pre-order, or pop in and see what we have. We didn’t think this would ever happen, but it has.”
The Ahrndt’s moved to LaGrange from Kennesaw, Georgia in 2012. After spending the majority of their weekend’s in the LaGrange area to stay in the family camper at Highland Marina, they made the decision to move in 2012. Since moving, Donna Arnholdt has made efforts to get back to what she knows how to do best.
“I was a private chef for one family in Dunwoody,” said Donna. “I wanted to find one family down here that needed the service, but I found a lot of families that did.”
Now that their new business is off the ground, the Arnholdt’s will look to serve the LaGrange community through catered meals. Per Donna, the business is set up to take catering requests for parties up to 100 people.
“This is a beautiful location with great-looking food, said Renae Willis, VP of Business Development and Marketing with the chamber.
“Welcome to the family of the chamber.”
Supper at Home Y’all is open Tuesday – Friday from 10 am-5 pm and 8 am-12 pm on Saturday. The restaurant will feature dishes such as buffalo chicken pasta casserole, broccoli cheddar soup, chicken pot pie, chicken salad and pimento cheese.
