There will be plenty of Easter themed events this weekend in Troup County, including several community egg hunts.

Troup County Parks and Recreation Department, Hogansville Police Department and First United Methodist Church will all host Easter egg hunts on Saturday. The Troup County Parks and Recreation Commission will host the 2019 Easter Egg hunt at 11 a.m.

The hunt will be held at Eastside Park, located at 240 Niles Road, in LaGrange. The Easter Bunny will be in attendance, and there will be prizes to win.

The public is invited and welcome to attend, but the Easter egg hunt is open to children ages 12 and under only. The Easter egg hunt will be separated into various age groups ranging from 1 to 5-years-old, 6 to 10-years-old and 11-years-old and up. Citizens are encouraged to bring their own Easter baskets to participate.

First United Methodist Church will host its annual community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. There will be thousands of eggs, and many prizes.

The Hogansville Police Department will also host its annual egg hunt at 9 a.m. for ages 1 to 12. The egg hunt will be held at Hendrix Stadium.

In the Easter related theme, Sweetland Amphitheatre will host Easter at Sweetland on Sunday morning. Kids activities start at 9:30 a.m., including an Easter Egg hunt, inflatables and a dramatic retelling of the Easter story. The Easter worship service begins at 11 a.m.

Of course, other events are going on this weekend as well.

Wild Leap Brew Co. will host its second annual Grilled Cheese Showdown. The event starts at 2 p.m. with a general admission ticket and will feature grilled cheese recipes from local vendors. Each vendor will make one to two different grilled cheeses for the event. For more information, visit www.wildleap.com.

Finally, a ribbon cutting will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Southbend Park. The event will include music, food trucks, contests, demos and prizes.
