Hogansville City Manager David A. Milliron has achieved Level II Certified Finance Officer status from The University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
“This is truly a significant accomplishment,” said Dr. Laura J. Meadows, Director of the Carl Vinson of Institute of Government.
“It is through the dedication and professionalism of public servants such as yourself that local governments will be able to meet the challenges of the future.”
Level II certification requires participants to master through examination nearly 200 hours of instruction in all aspects of local government finance.
A financial management project completed outside the classroom is also required.
As a certified finance officer, Milliron will be required to complete 15 hours of continuing professional education biannually.
“The motivation, time and discipline it took to complete the program is indicative of our city manager’s dedication to the profession and to public service,” Hogansville Mayor Bill Stankiewicz said.
