WEST POINT — A woman has only suffered minor injuries after being involved in a collision with a log trailer in West Point on Wednesday afternoon.
The Georgia State Patrol said that at approximately 4:50 p.m., a woman driving a 2017 Hyundai Accent came off of Adams Road and failed to yield to oncoming traffic at the stop sign. A log trailer traveling westbound on Highway 18 attempted to avoid the woman’s vehicle, but ultimately struck the Hyundai.
The accident turned the log trailer on its side, and the then-smoking Hyundai onto the side of the road. The logs from the trailer rolled across Highway 18, and the Hyundai was towed from under the trees on the side of the highway.
The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and the trailer driver remained on the scene of the accident without injury.
