Ryan Bliss and the Auburn Tigers are heading to Atlanta.

Auburn’s baseball team has earned an at-large invitation to the NCAA tournament, and it will participate in a four-team regional at Georgia Tech.

Auburn is in this position thanks in part to the effort of Bliss, a freshman second baseman from Troup High.

Bliss, who is a member of the all-SEC freshman team, is the only Auburn player who has started every game this season.

Bliss is hitting .268 with two home runs, 10 doubles, 32 RBIs and 41 runs scored.

Defensively Bliss has been a rock on the infield, committing just five errors, and he’s gone nine straight games without an error.

Auburn (45-33) is the number two seed in the regional, and it will face third-seeded Coastal Carolina on Friday at noon on ESPNU.

In the other first-round game, top-seeded Georgia Tech will play fourth-seeded Coastal Carolina.

The winner of the regional advances to a two-team super regional next week.

The eight super-regional winners qualify for the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
