Wife allegedly cuts husband with broken beer bottle in LaGrange

A man is recovering after police said he was cut with a broken beer bottle by his wife.
Detectives said Johnny Cato, 46, and Antonique Cato, 22, both of LaGrange got into an altercation Thursday night about 11:30 p.m. on Mitchell Avenue near Banks Street.
Officers said they responded after receiving calls about a woman chasing a man up the street with a bottle.
Sgt. William Nelson said Johnny Cato’s injuries were minor and required a few stitches.
Detectives are still interviewing the couple and witnesses to the attack.

Toddlers found wandering streets
A driver called LaGrange police Thursday just after 9 a.m. when she spotted two small children running across the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Washington Street with no parents in the area.
Police said when they arrived, they saw one of the toddlers only wearing a diaper and the other only in underwear and carrying a blanket.
The officers stated the children appeared to be 2 to 4 years old.
According to the report, the toddlers were able to point out to officers where they live in the 1200 block of Second Avenue, three blocks from where they were found.
When officers arrived, the children’s mother was outside and reportedly told police she suffers from a sleep disorder and was asleep when the toddlers got out of the house.
LaGrange Police Department detectives also showed up on scene and police issued the woman a written warning for parental responsibility to supervise her children.
Detectives were investigating.
Man claims he was attacked with knife
LaGrange police detectives are looking into a cutting that allegedly took place on Wednesday in the 100 block of Turner Street.
According to the report, officers responded to West Georgia Medical Center on Thursday about 10:15 a.m. after learning a man showed up at the emergency room the day before with a deep knife wound on his arm.
The hospital director of security said the man’s injury was so bad medical personnel almost airlifted him to another facility.
Instead, doctors treated the victim and placed him in ICU, the report states.
Officers said the man told them he was walking in the 100 block of Turner Street around 3 p.m. Wednesday when a group of eight to 10 young males surrounded him.
The victim said he managed to fight off two of the attackers, but one of them cut him on the left forearm with a large dagger.
He told officers he did not know the names of his attackers and that he was bleeding so badly he jumped into a stranger’s car who took him to the emergency room.
Detectives reviewing hospital surveillance video said they found some inconsistencies between what they saw on tape and the victim’s statements of what happened.
They are still investigating the incident.
Shots fired at house
A man returning to his house in the 200 block of Cooley Road on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. found it riddled with bullets.
The homeowner told officers he saw the side door of the house was broken and saw bullet holes inside the door and side of the house.
Police located one shell casing, which they said appeared to be from a .40-caliber weapon.
The reporting officer stated only one bullet appeared to have pierced the door, and it created a hole above a countertop.
According to the homeowner, no one was inside the residence at the time of the shooting.
