It was a tough day offensively for the LaGrange Grangers, but senior running back Caleb Ross did some nice things in the 56-10 loss to Callaway.
Late in the third quarter, the Grangers were trailing 35-3 when Ross took a handoff from quarterback Charles Crawford, and he beat the Cavaliers’ defense for a 32-yard touchdown.
Ross also had a 26-yard run in the second quarter that put the ball in Callaway territory, although that drive eventually stalled and LaGrange had to punt.
LaGrange’s other points came on a 30-yard Kaleb Ceja field goal late in the first quarter.
LaGrange didn’t get much done in the passing game, although tight end Cole Crawford had an 11-yard catch in the second quarter put the ball on the Callaway 19-yard line.
Crawford also completed a 16-yard pass that put the ball into Callaway territory in the second quarter before LaGrange was forced to punt.
Crawford also had some effective runs, including a 15-yard scamper in the first quarter.
