It was a career day for former Callaway Cavalier Kelly Carlisle.
Carlisle, a sophomore on the Point University women’s soccer team, scored two goals to help her team beat visiting Columbia 5-1 on Wednesday.
Columbia scored the game’s first goal less than two minutes into the match, but Point (5-7-1 overall) dominated the action the rest of the way to improve to 3-5-1 in conference play.
After Columbia took the early lead, Point pulled even a little more than nine minutes into the match on a goal by Carlisle, with Jasmine Marquez assisting.
A little more than 16 minutes later Carlisle scored her second goal, with Marquez once again providing the assist.
In the second half, Marquez scored two goals, and Vanessa Lara scored another one as Point pulled away.
Carlisle, who was a soccer and softball standout at Callaway, enjoyed a successful freshman season at Point with seven goals.
Carlisle got her sophomore season started with a bang when she made the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Faulkner.
Carlisle scored again in a 5-1 victory over Bluefield College, and she picked up her third and fourth goals of the season on Wednesday.
Point will try to make it two in a row when it visits Georgia Gwinnett College on Saturday.
