Preparing for the Snow Ball

If there is a more generous, solution based, thriving, and supportive community other than west Georgia, I do not know where it is.

West Georgia is the home of top tier medical facilities, industry, financial institutions, small and large private businesses, governmental entities, public servants, law enforcement, agencies and judicial services. Collectively, our community freely gives millions of dollars to non-profit organizations that clearly make a big difference in the quality of life for all of us.

The above blessings have quickly had a dramatic effect on one of the most critical issues that we face; autism.

According to the Marcus Autism Center, this year more children will be diagnosed with autism than AIDS, diabetes and cancer combined. One in 42 boys and one in 189 girls born in Georgia will be affected by autism. While these numbers are astounding and affect families, quality of life, taxpayers, the medical community and almost everyone else, west Georgia is boldly confronting this challenge.

On Jan. 11, 2020, the West Georgia Autism Foundation (WGAF) is hosting the second Annual Snow Ball. That evening, we will illuminate the dark sky with lights and entertainment at the beautiful Oak Lawn on Rome Street in Carrollton. Guests in cocktail attire will enjoy a winter wonderland of fun, fundraising, and fellowship.

Upon arrival, you will be met with live music, food, cocktails and more. A silent auction will last throughout the evening. After dinner, the famous amateur auctioneer, Cade Parian, will entertain and conduct the live auction.

Lastly, you will hear from a special guest speaker. You will not forget his message.

We are focused on surpassing the $70,000 raised at the first Snow Ball in January 2019. Please join us and be a part of achieving that goal.

We invite you to partner with the WGAF by sponsoring, purchasing a table, or buying individual tickets. All sponsors will have a full table (eight seats) with unlimited drink tickets. Tables, half tables and single tickets will come with complimentary drinks.

This year, we are featuring “A Grand for a Grand.” If you pledge $1,000 over the course of one year, and honor a grandchild, grandparent or anyone you just think is grand.

For more information, please contact Linda McWhorter at (770) 301-2021 or linda@ngturf.com.

Thank you for supporting the WGAF and we look forward to seeing you in January.
