A 24-year-old suspect was arrested for an armed robbery at Harvest Coffee and Bakery Monday morning.
According to LaGrange Police Department Detective Amy Sweatt, LPD responded to Harvest at approximately 5:50 a.m. An employee told officers that while he was opening the business a man approached him with a gun and demanded money.
After the employee gave the suspect the cash box and his cell phone, the suspect fled on foot.
According to Sweatt, officers were able to arrest Ravon Deshone Woods within the next hour after pinging the location of the victim’s cell phone.
“The officers were able to go to that location, and knock on the door where they found the gentleman inside,” Sweatt said. “We haven’t recovered all of the money but have recovered the cash box.”
The coffee and bakery opened this year with its coffee truck and recently has opened a drive-thru shop on Vernon Road.
The coffee shop is a Christian non-profit, community-driven, local coffee provider that serves coffee, donuts and more. According to its website, all proceeds are directed back to the community to help local churches share the love of Christ and to impact communities locally and around the world by supporting mission work.
Woods was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and obstruction of an officer.
Additionally, Sweatt said they are looking into more suspects that are possibly involved with the case.
