North Paulding was the last team standing in the LaGrange Toyota Invitational.
North Paulding went 3-1 to win the tournament, and it won a 4-3 thriller over Buford in Saturday night’s championship game at Granger Park.
North Paulding scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning to go ahead 4-2, and it made that lead stand up the rest of the way.
Jake Hembree started and pitched 3 1/3 innings to get the win, and Logan Lynch tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings for the save.
Dylan Rhadans had two hits and three RBIs, and Mitchell Heer had a hit and an RBI.
Treyton Rank and Eli Ledford each had two hits and an RBI for Buford.
In Saturday’s third-place game, DeSoto took a 6-2 lead after three innings, and it held on for a 7-4 victory.
Northside-Columbus beat LaGrange 13-3 to finish fifth, and Providence blanked Trinity 4-0 in the seventh-place game.
