Dunkin Donuts is now open and serving coffee and donuts on Lafayette Parkway seven days a week.

“My main goal is to bring out the Dunkin brand,” said Dunkin manager Marian McGee. “I know Dunkin Donuts was across town years ago, and I’ve heard people talk about how Dunkin Donuts used to be in town. Now is the right time to bring Dunkin back to LaGrange.”

McGee said that they were so busy on their first day that they ran out of multiple products.

“Our staff has been very resilient, very calm and I’m very proud of them,” McGee said. “They’re brand new and have had one week of training. We got very clobbered when we opened, with it being a brand-new store, but they were very energetic and just excited to finally open.”

Dunkin’s dining room is closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are encouraging patrons to use the mobile order app, take out or drive-thru option.

“We did double on Thursday than what we thought we were going to do,” McGee said. “We planned really well today and had more product.”

When the dining room does open, Franchise District Manager Sharron Cargile said she hopes groups can relax with a cup of coffee and a donut in it.

“We have a relaxed area,” Cargile said. “We have a conference table where we people can come have meetings. Students can come study here. There’s a lot of places to just come and hang out and relax. We just want it to be very inviting.”

Dunkin is open Monday through Saturday beginning at 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays at 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“We will host our official grand opening once [coronavirus] regulations are dropped,” McGee said. “We will offer free coffee for a year for the first 100 customers and when we do announce the grand opening it will be posted on our Facebook page.”

Cargile said they are doing everything they can to follow food safety guidelines and give their customers a great product.

“We are taking all the extra precautions we can during this time,” Cargile said.

McGee said she recommends customers come by and get a cup of iced coffee.

“That is our number one seller,” McGee said. “Then, everyone is crazy for the Boston Cream donut and my favorite is the Maple Frosting donut.”
