With Troup County Parks and Recreation’s annual Fourth of July fireworks postponed to August because of the coronavirus, residents seeking to view a large fireworks show will have to drive half an hour and pay for admission to Callaway Gardens to see a show.
According to its website, Callaway Resort and Gardens will have three consecutive nights of fireworks over Fourth of July weekend — Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the usual outdoor attractions, Callaway will have food and drink specials
The resort’s public relations line could not be reached for comment via email or phone, but its website does list information on the fireworks.
According to the Callaway Gardens website, measures taken at the resort include hand sanitizer stations located around the property, “rigorous and high frequency” cleaning of shared surfaces, physical social distancing enforcement and requiring masks in indoor facilities.
The cost of attending ranges from $19.95-34.95 per ticket, depending on age and which night you purchase tickets for. Tickets for Friday or Sunday are $5 cheaper if purchased online. Children five and under get free admission. Tickets include access to the beach and gardens for the full day. To purchase tickets, visit https://tickets.callawaygardens.com/events?k=July4th.
