Troup County Jail announced that as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning there are no active cases of coronavirus in the jail, nor does the jail have any inmates under suspicion of COVID-19.
According to a press release from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, the jail attributes no cases to ongoing mitigation and prevention measures.
The current jail population as of Tuesday morning was 345 inmates.
“We know that this virus can manifest itself at any time that is why we will continue the mitigation and safety measures that we have been doing for several weeks,” said Sheriff James Woodruff. “Hopefully the processes that we put in place will prevent any future cases and if they should arise they will be dealt with in a timely fashion. Thank you to my staff and our wonderful medical staff for the hard work they do every day and for the community for continuing to support us.”
