Founded in 1934 Old Dominion Freight Line started out as a single truck running a 94-mile route in Virginia and now have planted a warehouse in LaGrange. 

“We are an end of the line service center and consolidate shipments from smaller shippers,” said Service Center Manager Bobby Meadows. “We’ve got about 25 associates located in the facility. We serve the Walmart Distribution Center, M+A Matting, Milliken and many more of the industrial companies out here.” 

Old Dominion currently operates 238 service centers, with complete coverage across the entire continental United States. The LaGrange facility covers up to an 80-mile radius outside of Troup County. It is also classified as a less-than-truckload shipping or less than load (LTL) freight company. 

“LaGrange is a perfect spot for us to grow,” said Southern Region Regional Vice President Craig Evans. “It’s close enough to the Atlanta metro area that we can serve as we come north. We are considered a central carrier or company because we handle a ton of food products, healthcare products and more. We’re very busy right now, especially in those two markets.” 

Evans said that essentially anything that you may buy at the store it was a LTL carrier that provided those goods. 

“We are in a perfect central location right by Interstate I-85,” Evans said. “We are near several of our customers in LaGrange including the Walmart Distribution Center and quite a bit of other businesses in that business park surrounding us.” 

Old Dominion will pick up and deliver a wide variety of items and goods. 

“We can deliver anything from a fitness machine to a to a home or machine products to a company,” Evans said. “It keeps companies running. We are helping keep healthcare running too by making sure they get the products they need. Being located in LaGrange helps us get to our customers quicker.”

Evans said it is the drivers, warehouse workers and trucks that help keep the economy and world going by making sure companies and businesses get the goods they need. 

Old Dominion is also the second largest LTL carrier in America 

“We are extremely excited to start this journey and location in LaGrange,” Evans said. “We’re very excited to be able to service our customers sooner, and I think it gives us the opportunity to grow. We had a 30-door facility in Columbus, Georgia and in LaGrange we doubled that capacity. We’re always looking to keep growing as a company. We very much want to be a good servant to the LaGrange area and look forward to operating for many years to come.”
