Black Friday sales happening in LaGrange

With less than 24 hours till Black Friday shopping begins local stores are gearing up for shoppers.
For major stores, Walmart in LaGrange closed at 11 pm on Wednesday Nov. 25 and will reopen at 5 a.m. on Friday Nov. 27. Home Depot in LaGrange will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday and close at 9 p.m.
The LaGrange Mall will open at 6 a.m. and stay open late until 10 p.m. Although the mall doesn’t open until 6 a.m., Dunham’s Sports will open 4 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.
Dunham’s released on their website, “Expanded store hours to help spread out customer traffic, make social distancing easier and provide greater safety for our employees and our customers.”
In Downtown LaGrange, multiple stores will be having Black Friday deals.
“The impact of shopping local causes a ripple effect in our community,” said Downtown LaGrange Development Authority Director of Promotions and Marketing Barbie Watts. “Dollars spent here are dollars kept here. Restaurants and shops use those dollars to pay their employees who in turn will put those dollars back into our local economy when they buy groceries, gifts, gas etc. When you shop local, you impact the whole community.”
At the newly opened Ressa’s Unique Boutique on the square, doors open at 10 a.m. Store owner Terressa Waldrep said that between 10 a.m. and noon, all items are 30 percent off. Between noon and 2 p.m. all items are 25 percent off and from 2 p.m. until closing at 6 p.m. all items are 20 percent off.
Elliebelles on Bull Street will open its doors at 10 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. Anyone who purchases $150 or more will receive one of the newly designed est. 2005 Elliebelles tee, purchases $75 or over receive a fashionable pair of earrings.
“We also will have drawings for popular Christmas items (no purchase necessary to enter),” said store co-owner Holly Hunnicut. “We love you for shopping local.”
Another local downtown store, Emberglow, will have most custom made local items 10 percent off. Doors open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Additionally, Amy Warren with An Affair to Remember on the square said they will have all prom/formal dresses marked down to $99.
