Karon Riddle Grant

1967-2020

Karon Riddle Grant, 53, of Pine Mountain passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 at her home.  Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Ellerslie with Rev. Tommy Henschel officiating.

Karon was born Sept. 12, 1967 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Roy Robert Riddle, Jr. and Brenda Armstrong Riddle.  She finished high school in Florida and graduated from LaGrange College with a bachelor’s degree in Education.  After college, her first teaching position was at Luthersville Elementary School.  For the past 22 years, Karon had taught at Park Elementary in Hamilton.  In her leisure time, Karon volunteered for Relay for Life and enjoyed making jams, jellies and preserves that she shared with so many.  She also liked restoring antiques but more than any of those things, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Karon is survived by her husband, Rob Grant of Pine Mountain; her mother, Brenda (Ed) Wheat of Montgomery, Alabama; her children, Susan M. Grant of Pine Mountain, Michael (Kelsey) Grant of Hamilton, Katherine E. Grant of Pine Mountain; one step-sister, Leigh (Donny) Burnett of Prattville, Alabama; three grandchildren, Theodore Anderson Grant, Webberly Blair Grant, John Brooks Grant and several nieces and nephews.
