Shirley J. Strickland Smith Lear of LaGrange, passed away Dec. 27, 2020.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Elzie Berry and Cora Strickland, she was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square, Merrymakers and The Active Life Center in LaGrange, Georgia.
She is survived by daughters; Karen Mobley of Loganville, Georgia, Kathy and husband, Jose Reyes of LaGrange, Georgia and Kimberley Buchanan of Altamonte Springs, Florida. In addition to her children, Shirley is survived by her grandchildren; Kenneth Mobley and wife, Lindsay of St. Louis, Missouri, Laura Mobley of Grayson, Georgia, Wesley Buchanan and wife, Rebekah of Ellijay, Georgia, Ashley Buchanan of Atlanta, Georgia, Brantley Buchanan of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Katie Reyes of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and great-grandchildren Harrison Mobley and Crosby Mobley of St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, Georgia with Pastor Cade Farris and Rev. Paul Blair officiating. The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery in College Park, Georgia.
