Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler won Troup County on Tuesday night, but statewide the results were still close to call in the two U.S. Senate run-offs.

Perdue defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff 15,757 to 10,488 in Troup County, and Loffler defeated Democrat Raphael Warnock 15,685 to 10,574 in Troup County. However, statewide, at press time, both races remained too close to call with Perdue and Loeffler hanging on to narrow leads. Statewide, the lead had swung back and forth throughout the night.

The Senate run-offs would determine control of the U.S. Senate. If Warnock and Ossoff win, then Democrats would create a 50-50 tie in the Senate, with Vice President Elect Kamala Harris able to cast the tying vote. If either Perdue and Loeffler win, then Republicans would have control of the Senate.

In a third race on the ballot, for Public Service Commission District 4, Republican Lauren Bubba McDonald won Troup County over Democrat Daniel Blackman 15,911 to 10,105. McDonald was holding on to a narrow lead at press time, but the race was too close to call.
